STRATEGIC
PLANNING
“If you don't know where you are going, any road will get you there.”-Lewis Caroll
A district should have a mission that is supported by the community and reflects the direction for the district. A strategy should reflect the core beliefs and values that the community has for its schools and with that, there must be accountability in all strategic plans.
BOARD/
ADMINISTRATION
RELATIONSHIPS
“Great teamwork is the only way we create the breakthroughs that define our careers.”
-Pat Riley
If the leadership of the school district, the board and superintendent, are not united as a team, their effectiveness is impaired. Since schools work to create lifelong learners, boards and district leadership should model learning and partake in opportunities to improve as a board and administration. We will show you how to get there.
LEADER
MENTORSHIP
“We know what we are but know not what we may be”-Shakespeare's Ophelia in Hamlet
Professional development is not just for the teaching staff. Leaders are needed at grade levels, departments, and building administration. Every professional athlete has a coach to help them improve. The same holds true for the professional educator.
BOARD
GOVERNANCE
“Govern a great nation as you would cook a small fish. Do not overdo it.”-Lao Tzu
Effective school boards commit to a vision of high expectations for student outcomes; have confidence in the district’s ability to teach all children at high levels; are accountability driven; and focus on policies to improve student achievement. We can only achieve this through our distinct roles.
